Highlights

– Seismic hazard assessment is very important for safe NPP operation

– The adaptive seismic monitoring system for the NPP site is described

– Data on local seismic sources were obtained

Abstract. Adaptive system of seismic monitoring takes into account specific conditions of different objects and target priorities. Observations are carried out in areas with extremely diverse climatic conditions, different levels of natural and technogenic microseismic noise, different density of regional seismic networks, fundamentally different approaches to organizing the supply of seismic stations, as well as to collecting, storing, and transmitting information. In areas, where regional networks are absent, the main priorities are the most detailed rather than operative identification of zones of local seismic sources. In these cases, the most effective network combines telemetric and autonomous seismic stations. An important element is energy-saving technologies and the use of ecologically clean solar energy to power stations. As a result, the quality and completeness of data obtained for local seismic sources may significantly exceed those from the world seismological centers.

Keywords: seismic monitoring, NPP, adaptive systems.
