Highlights

– results of full-scale modeling of railway track foundation state are given

– parameters most informative for assessing the condition of soils are revealed

– possible detection of unfavorable areas at an early stage of their development is shown

– continuous monitoring is possible along the entire railway line

– operational control is provided with the data telemetry to the central hub

Abstract. The first results of full-scale modeling of railway track foundation state, which runs in areas with complex natural-climatic and engineering-geological conditions, are presented. Our results show the principal possibility of making railway track foundation monitoring by dint of seismic stations installed along it. We have identified monitoring parameters that indicate deterioration of the foundation, for example, due to flooding, thawing and etc. The advantage of our approach over other analogues is to identify unfavorable areas at an early stage of their development, control their condition with the rapid transfer of information to the central communication hub.
